Due to heavy tick population where I live, I want it to repel AND kill. Kill only meds the tick/flea must bite the dog to die. Repel and kill meds do the same thing but also keep pests from biting be repelling. I change what I use every other year. Bravecto kills fleas, prevents flea infestations, and kills ticks (black-legged tick, American dog tick, and brown dog tick) for 12 weeks.

Bravecto also kills lone star ticks for 8 weeks. I use sulfur and neem oil based products, which seems to kill fleas and many parasites. Almost everybody I know in central florida seems to be using frontline or comforits, in which I would use comforits. comforits and a tick collar combination seems what a lot of people like. I just got an email from Chewy offering Onguard flea & tick for 50% off. I currently use Frontline Plus which has the same active ingredients, but I am wary of using a new product and there are only 4 reviews on Chewy and I didn't find much info when I tried googling.
